Unité 6 - leçon 2: Quel temps fait-il?

Bonjour Chers Parents,

I hope you had a restful break.

As you must know we are currently learning about the weather (la météo).

So far your students should be familiar with the following:

It is sunny, it is cloudy, it is rainy, it is snowing, there is a storm and there is wind.

They also should be familiar with: it's warm and it's cold.

Here is a little video with some noise if you want to practice:

Tu préfères le salé ou le sucré?

Bonjour,

This week we started Unité 5: leçon 5 about sweet and salty but also about how much salt or sugar you want with your food.

We are working on the preoposition with and without

without: sans
with: avec
with a little of
with a lot of

And we can combine the ingredients that your students have been learning this quarter.

They are having fun with making normal sentences and bizarre sentences saying they prefer eating their salad with a lot of chocolate.

Bon weekend R&R

Unité 5 - Lecon 4: Tu as faim?

Chers Parents,

This week and the coming week we are working on the expression:

Are you hungry?
What do you want to eat?

We view different vocabulary words:
Carrots, salad/lettuce (same word used in French), potatoes, rice, fries, chicken, meat, fish, ice cream, chocolate cake and ice cream.

Many of these are similar in French and English.

I sent home a homework that your student might find a little more challenging.

Here is the explanation if you are confused too.

The sentences ask the students what they want to drink (boire: sentence 1 only) or eat (manger) as main course (=plat) or as dessert (=dessert... that is a hard one to guess :-) ).

They can answer writing:

I want to drink => Je veux boire ..............

I want to eat => Je veux manger ..............

The back of the page has a word bank in case your student forgot his/her French notebook home.

Bon weekend!
